another fun fact, william burroughs went through a phase after he published Naked Lunch where he refused to write anymore. Instead, he spent hours and hours making “cut-ups” and published several books of them. He believed that an outer alien force was causing him to pick and string together certain words, and he was dedicated to cracking the code. So he just spent days cutting up and rearranging different literary texts. For like, 5 years though.
